The title “100 years of beauty in 1 minute” makes me smile because it brings to my mind the most watched ever article on Sterlizie – which I will reveal you at the end of this one. That was about fashion, but this time we talk about beauty with a captivating video that shows how make up and hair style changed during the years.
Some of you may have already seen the video 100 Years of Beauty in 1 Minute, because it is becoming viral in the recent days: while I’m writing, it has more than 13 million views on YouTube.
I watched it for the first time a week ago, and though it had impressed me, I admit that I was very doubtful whether or not to show it on my blog. for a simple reason: I don’t like very much the model and, to be honest, not even the photography. Latin used say: De gustibus non est disputandum! that means “In matters of taste, there can be no dispute”.
In the end, however, I find that the effect is so fun and interesting that it is worthwhile to see 100 years of beauty in 1 minute: in the video in fact, thanks to the time-lapse technique, we see the model made up and coiffed in real time according to the fashion and style of each decade from 1910 to 2010.
So please take a minute to watch the clip created by the mysterious team of The Cut, videomakers from Seattle:
What do you think about it? In addition to my doubts about the model, the decades that leave me a bit puzzled are those closest to us, the 2000 and 2010 – perhaps because like any fact or historical period, you need a certain detachment from the events to be able to speak objectively. That said, my favorite styles of 100 years of beauty 1 minute are definitely those of the thirties and fifties. And yours?
