The Wall by Dominick Sheldon, a fashion film on trampolines

The Wall by Dominick SheldonSome time ago I attended the first edition of Fashion Film Festival Milano, a new event that aims to explore the various world of fashion films in their different forms and levels (including big brand productions as well as emerging talents). The festival, strongly desired by Constanza Cavalli Etro, was curated by italian editor of I-D magazine, Gloria Maria Cappelletti. For me it meant two days full of inspirational content and feast for the eyes: today I want you to discover one of the short films that impressed me most. I am talking about The Wall by Dominick Sheldon. The Wall by Dominick SheldonWatching this video, characterized by a quite metaphysics atmosphere, you will remain open-mouthed following the fluid movements of two people who perform symmetrically stunts divided by a mysterious wall.

They are two brothers from the athletic group winner of the Guinness Book of World Records called Flippenout. The discipline is that of the trampoline and one of the most beautiful things in The Wall by Dominick Sheldon in that you will never see it during the entire video. The protagonists, Sean and Eric Kennedy, “fly” at almost 22 feet in heights. And they do it with style: in fact,  they wear outfits from designer including 3.1 Phillip Lim, J.W. Anderson e Tim Coppens. A magnetic performance filmed in anabandoned airspace outside of New York and punctuated by original soundtrack “Paradise”, composed by the producer Feral. My background in fashion spurred me to take them out their typical environment. When they enter and exit a frame they’re in a different outfit yet they’re still in routine. It’s a performance Dominick Sheldon
